Earlier: Florida may have suffered another big blow Wednesday afternoon as it continues preparation for Saturday's game against rival Tennessee.

According to Mike Huguenin of GridironNow, the Gators have suspended DB Jalen Tabor and QB Treon Harris for violation of university policy, and they will now miss Saturday's game against the Volunteers. But that may just be the tip of the iceberg. Shortly after Huguenin's report, Graham Hall, of Alligator Sports, reported that WDE Alex McCalister will also miss this weekend's showdown with Tennessee. McCalister has already been suspended once this season.

The Gators didn't need any distractions heading into their biggest game to date, but they officially have them. Through the first three games of the year, head coach Jim McElwain has been floating back and forth between Harris and Will Grier at quarterback. But with Harris' suspension, Grier is likely set to play the entire game. But the loss of Tabor will hurt the most. Florida's secondary will miss him against the Tennessee offense.

McElwain has not confirmed these reports, but he's scheduled to speak with the media following Wednesday's practice. And if the reports are true, he's not a happy camper. The Volunteers haven't won in Gainesville since 2003.
