The New York Knicks made a lot of moves this past season to set themselves up for a prolific free agency period. With their eyes on the top players available, one Golden State Warriors star had some bad news for Knicks fans.
Warriors veteran Andre Iguodala appeared on CNBC today and poured cold water on the Knicks free agency plans. He seems to believe that none of the big free agents will be going to Madison Square Garden this summer.
“Nobody’s going to the Knicks, sorry.”
It’s hard to tell if Iguodala is just teasing the Knicks or if he has inside information. The Knicks have long been rumored to be the top destination for impending Warriors free agent Kevin Durant.

But outside of Durant, the Knicks have few if any connections to the other top potential free agents such as Kawhi Leonard or Kyrie Irving.
The start of 2019 has pretty much been a disaster for the Knicks. They finished the 2018-19 season with the worst record in the NBA, but only came away with the third overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft – missing out on top prospect Zion Williamson in the process.
They also saw the Brooklyn Nets make some off-season moves of their own that put them in a position to get two max deal players as well.
Even if Iguodala is just trying to troll Knicks fans, they aren’t in an ideal position heading into free agency.
