On Tuesday, the Boston Celtics were dealt unfortunate news involving Al Horford. Instead of re-signing with the team on a new deal, the expectation is that he'll sign elsewhere.

Boston is already expecting to lose Kyrie Irving in free agency. Now, it'll have to prepare for another loss to its starting lineup.

Horford has established himself as an impact player with the Celtics. Any team would be lucky to have him and the impact he brings on both sides of the court.

With free agency only a couple of weeks away, three contenders have emerged for Horford.

According to Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer, the Dallas Mavericks are the favorites to land Horford. They won't be the only team that shows interest in the All-Star center, as the Lakers and Clippers are also potential suitors.

Both franchises from Los Angeles are focused on landing Kawhi Leonard, but that won't stop them from pursuing Horford.

Horford is coming off another strong season with the Celtics, averaging 13.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest.

The Celtics will have to make a convincing offer to Horford if they want to keep him in town.

It's going to be a monumental offseason for a handful of teams in the NBA, and Horford's potential departure from Boston makes for a pretty interesting storyline.
