The star free agent is heading to Boston.

A top NBA player is moving from the West to the East. Finally.

All-Star free agent Gordon Hayward has made his decision. He's signing with Boston.

Hayward wrote a piece for The Players' Tribune announcing his decision to sign with the Celtics after taking meeting with the Miami Heat and Utah Jazz.

From his piece:

This was a life-changing decision for me and my family, and something we took really seriously. And from the very start of this process, one thing stood out as important: I knew that I wanted the fans and the organizations to hear my decision directly from me.

After seven years in Utah, I have decided to join the Boston Celtics.

Here are the contract details for Hayward, per Shams Charania of The Vertical.

He's a huge addition to a Boston team in need of an All-Star caliber wing to play with Isaiah Thomas and Al Horford.

Hayward played in college for Celtics' coach Brad Stevens.
