In recent offseason photos, Tatum can be seen working out in the gym. The two-time All-Star is pictured performing lunges and goblet squats, and while it’s not clear what dumbbells he’s using for the first exercise, he’s got a 100-pounder in his hands for the second.
In the pics, Tatum looks noticeably thicker and more muscular.

Tatum has changed his body drastically since entering the league in 2017 after one season at Duke. The 23-year-old swingman has elevated his game in the process.
In 2020-21, Tatum produced a career-high 26.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. He also shot a career-best 86.8% from the free-throw line.
Despite Tatum’s best efforts, the Celtics’ season was a disappointment, as the team finished 36-36 before losing to the Brooklyn Nets in five games in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. Now, Boston has a new head coach in Ime Udoka and a new team president in Brad Stevens, the man Udoka replaced on the sideline.
We’ll see if they have what it takes to get the Celtics back among the elite teams in the league.
