Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons has been ruled out for Game 4 against the Boston Celtics - much to the annoyance of one NBA legend.

On Sunday, NBA analyst and Hall of Fame guard Reggie Miller admonished Simmons for not making himself ready for Game 4. He declared that Simmons has "zero competitive fire" and told him to "man up."

"Cmon MAN!!! Out for Game 4 when it was rumored you were going to make your debut. This dude has ZERO competitive [fire]... As small a chance as the Nets have to come back in this series, you still have KD and Kyrie, all you need is to win ONE game and take it from there... #ManUp," Miller wrote.

Simmons has not played at all this year due to a back injury. He was traded to the Nets midseason after five years with the Philadelphia 76ers.

There was some speculation that the back injury Ben Simmons started the season with wasn't serious and was just related to his desire to leave Philadelphia. But it's been months since the trade and he's barely practiced, let alone been brought to the bench.

With the Nets on the brink of playoff elimination, Simmons might wind up going the whole year without playing a single game.

From there, it will be interesting to see if he has a future in Brooklyn at all.

Will Ben Simmons play even a single game in the NBA playoffs?
