It might be over a year before we see Kevin Durant step onto a basketball court for the Brooklyn Nets. But the two-time NBA Finals MVP gave Nets fans a sneak peak at what he’ll look like when he does.
On Thursday, the Nets shared photos of their new summer signing. Durant rocked the Nets black and white colors while sporting his new No. 7 jersey.
Durant signed a four-year, $164 million free agent deal with the Nets back in July. In joining the Nets, he gets to be teammates with Kyrie Irving, who also joined the Nets in free agency.

Durant revealed a few days ago that he was eschewing No. 35 to take No. 7 since the number represents “completion” in the Bible.
But Durant is not expected to play much, or at all in the 2019-20 season. He tore his Achilles during the NBA Finals and is expected to need nearly a year or more to recover.
The Nets’ 2019-20 season may be only a little better with Kyrie Irving, but the 2020-21 season is when they may really shine.
