With the Brooklyn Nets on the cusp of playoff elimination, head coach Steve Nash is under fire from NBA fans and analysts. But is his job as in danger as many think it should be?

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Nash's job is actually safe despite the team's playoff disappointment. Stein reported on Monday that Nash still has the support of Nets superstar Kevin Durant. Perhaps more importantly, he has the support of owner Joe Tsai.

As you can imagine, this report isn't going over well with Nets fans and general NBA fans. Many believe that he's a big reason the team is struggling as they try to avoid playoff elimination this week.

It was a surprise to most people when the Brooklyn Nets hired Steve Nash in 2020. He had no prior coaching experience in the NBA or college, but some with the Canadian national basketball team.

In his first year with the team, Nash seemed to have things largely figured out. His Nets went 48-24 in the pandemic-shortened season and beat the Boston Celtics in five games before bowing out in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

But this year has just been one disaster after another. The Nets regressed to 44-38 and only barely qualified for the playoffs via the play-in round.

Now they're down 3-0 to the Celtics in the First Round and could very well get swept if they lose tonight.

Nash may have the support of the team right now, but if he doesn't get better results next year, that well of support may dry up.
