Tacko Fall impressed the Boston Celtics enough this summer to earn a longer look from the team. The Celtics have signed the 7-foot-6 center to a free agent contract.
The team announced the move this afternoon. Fall and guard Javonte Green were signed, with guards Tremont Waters and Max Strus inking two-way contracts.
Undrafted out of UCF, Fall played in all five games for the Celtics during summer league. He averaged 7.2 points , 4.0 rebounds, and 1.4 blocked shots per contest while shooting 77 percent from the field.
“I think Tacko’s going to have a chance to make the roster,” Celtics GM and president Danny Ainge said earlier this month.

Fall was efficient offensively and a force defensively at UCF, averaging averaging 10.1 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game for his career.
However, questions about his athleticism and fit in the modern NBA caused him to go undrafted in June. He has quickly established himself as a fan favorite with Celtics supporters this summer though.
Time will tell if he remains a favorite of the coaching staff and decision makers. For now though, Fall will be in training camp and have a shot at cracking the roster.
