The 2019 NBA Finals matchup is set and predictions for the series between the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors are starting to roll in.
The Warriors are big favorites in this year’s NBA Finals, coming off their sweep of the Portland Trail Blazers, though the Raptors are coming off an impressive series win over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Will anyone be taking Kawhi Leonard and Co. to upset Golden State?
It appears so.
Turner Sports analyst Charles Barkley has released his prediction for the NBA Finals. It’s a bold one.
“There’s no player in the NBA I’d rather have than Kawhi Leonard,” Barkley said following the Raptors’ Game 6 win. “He’s a drama-free superstar. This guy had 17 rebounds [in Game 6] … and remember last game he had his career high in assists. He just wants to win, and there’s never any drama. What’s gonna be interesting, Ernie, is he’s got a long time to get healthy. They don’t play ’til Thursday.
“But to answer your question? I’m taking the Toronto Raptors.”
The NBA Finals are set to begin on Thursday night.
Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. E.T. on ABC.
