Gordon Hayward became one of the biggest names on the NBA free agency market when he opted out of the final year of his contract earlier this week. Now, he’s stunned the NBA world with his free agency decision.
The 2017 All-Star small forward has reportedly agreed to a huge four-year contract with the Charlotte Hornets.
According to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Hornets are signing Hayward to a four-year, $120 million contract. Hayward’s agent has reportedly confirmed the news.

The NBA world is surprised by Hayward’s decision, as he was being linked to the Pacers and the Knicks. However, Charlotte is a team that’s shown interest in Hayward in the past.
Back when Hayward was a restricted free agent, he signed an offer sheet from Charlotte.

Hayward leaves Boston following three disappointing seasons, marred due to injury. The All-Star forward suffered an extremely gruesome injury to open the 2017-18 season and has battled multiple injuries ever since.
Now, he’ll look to get back to his Utah form in Charlotte.
