LaMelo Ball is just two years into his rookie contract, but that won't stop the NBA world from speculating about his future with the Charlotte Hornets.

During an appearance on ESPN's First Take this Thursday, Jay Williams revealed that he believes Ball is destined to play for the Los Angeles Lakers.

"When I look at LaMelo Ball, I see nothing but purple and gold," ">Williams said. "It’s written over the way he dresses, the style in which he pulls up to games. It relates to his whole social media image, where he’s from, and his dad had so much to do with how things are orchestrated, even with Lonzo getting there the first time."

Ball certainly fits the Lakers' brand, but the Hornets will most likely do everything in their power to make sure he remains a key part of their franchise for years to come.

In his second NBA season, Ball averaged 20.1 points, 7.6 assists and 6.7 rebounds per game.

The Hornets had a disappointing performance in their play-in game against the Atlanta Hawks this week, but that doesn't erase all the strides Ball took as a player this season.

If Charlotte can continue to build around Ball's skillset, the odds of him eventually leaving for a big-market team will diminish.

For now though, Hornets fans will have to deal with rumors about Ball's future.
