Kentucky and North Carolina have a ton of players in the NBA, and we had at least one pair of teammates make a bet on this weekend's Elite Eight game: Hornet wings Marvin Williams and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.
The two players each won national championships in their single collegiate seasons, Williams at UNC in 2005 and Kidd-Gilchrist at Kentucky in 2012. They also each went second overall in the NBA Draft.
Today, Kidd-Gilchrist had to pay up after Williams' Tar Heels knocked off his Wildcats in the NCAA Tournament. Williams is not on social media, but another recent NCAA Tournament standout—former Wisconsin star Frank Kaminsky—was there to help make the bet pay-off public.
That is a man that wishes he was wearing literally any other jacket. Except a Louisville one, I assume.
Williams' UNC Tar Heels advanced to the Final Four with the big win, where they will face a very good Oregon team. Kentucky is back to the drawing board, with a litany of new potential one-and-done freshmen set to join the roster.
