A star point guard could miss significant time.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics finally completed a trade that sent Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and two draft picks to Cleveland in exchange for Kyrie Irving.
An injury to Isaiah Thomas put the trade on hold for a few days before it eventually went through with an extra second round pick from Boston.
Now that the trade is over, the injury to Isaiah Thomas is dominating headlines.
Jason Lloyd of The Athletic, reported that Thomas could be out until the All-Star break.

If this timeline is accurate, Cleveland would need to be in the playoff hunt well before the All-Star break with an aging Derrick Rose at point guard. Now, LeBron James can take over the role for most of the season, but there’s only so much he can do to lift his team to the playoffs.
Thomas admitted that he may miss some time this season, but he will return to his All-NBA second team status he earned during the 2016-17 season.
