New Cavalier Jordan Clarkson wasn't ready for this LaVar Ball question.
Thursday's NBA trade deadline was all about one team. The Cleveland Cavaliers shook up their roster in a huge way, including the acquisition of Jordan Clarkson.
Clarkson is in his fourth NBA season. The 25-year old combo guard played his college ball at Tulsa and Missouri.
He spent the first three-and-a-half years of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers. The team acquired him on draft night after he was taken in the second round by the Washington Wizards.
Clarkson was one of two players acquired by the Cavaliers in Thursday's Isaiah Thomas trade. He heads to Cleveland along with Larry Nance Jr.
The Cavs sent L.A. Thomas, who had a very mercurial stint with the team coming off injury. He was packaged with veteran Channing Frye and the Cavaliers' 2018 first-round pick.
It could make for a better situation for Clarkson. The combo guard was a bit of an odd-man out for a team building its backcourt around rookie and former No. 2 pick Lonzo Ball.
During practice with his new team, Clarkson answered some questions from the media. The one he clearly wasn't prepared for wasn't about LeBron James, though, but LaVar Ball.
After being asked if he'll miss being around LaVar, Clarkson stumbled away laughing. His best attempt at an answer was "I'm out on that one."
Clarkson is averaging 14.5 points and 3.3 assists per game. He should be a nice addition for the new-look Cavs.
