Report: Derrick Rose Meeting With Cleveland Cavaliers Monday

A veteran point guard is in Cleveland.

With the news that Kyrie Irving wants out of Cleveland looming over the Cavs, the team is meeting with a former MVP.

Derrick Rose, who had been linked to Cleveland last week, is meeting with Cleveland officials in Ohio, according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Woj's report states that the two sides are discussing a one-year, $2.1 million deal.

From the report:

Free-agent guard Derrick Rose is meeting with Cleveland Cavaliers officials in Ohio on Monday, league sources told ESPN.

Rose has been engaged in serious discussions on a one-year, $2.1 million minimum deal with the Cavaliers.

Rose met with the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday, but has been leaning toward the Cavaliers opportunity, league sources told ESPN.

Rose showed he can still score the ball with the Knicks last season, scoring 18 points per game. The 2011 MVP had season-ending knee surgery in April, but is hoping to regain form with a contender.
