Kawhi Leonard may be coming off an NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors, but he's still far from a lock to stay with them when free agency starts. With the Los Angeles Clippers considered one of the favorites to sign Kawhi, one Clippers player gave an honest assessment of his team's chances.

Speaking to Davide Chinellato of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Clippers forward Danilo Gallinari indicated that Kawhi's success in Toronto may make staying with the Raptors more enticing than returning to his native Los Angeles. He then joked that he still expects Kawhi to sign with the Clippers.

“I don’t think a player who just won a championship in Toronto wants to come back home more than stay in a team he just won with”

Gallinari said that Kawhi would probably find it hard to leave now, but still plans on making a recruiting pitch to the three-time All-Star.

The Italian forward pledged to cook Kawhi some pasta if he plays for the Clippers.

Kawhi had a career year in terms of points per game and rebounds per game, and was even better in his 24 playoff games while leading Toronto to their first NBA title.

But despite his dominant in his first year in Toronto, Kawhi is far from a lock to return to Toronto.

The latest odds from OddsShark suggest that the Raptors and Clippers are very close in their likelihood of landing Kawhi.
