Since the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated by the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals, speculation has run wild about LeBron James' future.

The NBA legend alluded to possibly retiring when speaking to the media following the Game 4 loss, saying that he had "a lot to think about" when it came to the game of basketball.

While Fox Sports' Colin Cowherd isn't buying that LeBron would retire just yet, he did suggest an outlandish trade for James on his show this afternoon, a deal that would involve his biggest NBA rival.

Cowherd says that the Lakers could trade James to the Golden State Warriors for a package of young players including Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins.

Cowherd added that he thinks the trade would be beneficial for both teams, as it helps the Warriors toward the end of their championship window and helps the Lakers get younger over the long term.

This deal is unlikely to happen for a number of reasons, but the simplest among them may be the amount of money involved. Poole and Wiggins are both on $100 million deals, which would be nearly $200 million for players who have thrived in specific roles in a specific system.

The Lakers are also obviously committed to LeBron James for as long as he wants to play for them, essentially rendering any discussion of a trade pointless.
