The New Orleans Pelicans shockingly won the 2019 NBA Draft Lottery and the rights to select Duke star freshman forward Zion Williamson, prompting a number of strong opinions from those in the sports world.

Many people believe New Orleans is a bad landing spot for Zion, one of the most-marketable athletes in recent memory, especially with New York as a potential option.

The Pelicans are taking him at No. 1 overall, though, like it or not.

Unless, of course, something crazy happens. It's been more common for NFL Draft prospects to dictate where they'e been picked (Eli Manning, John Elway), though it has happened in the NBA Draft, before. Steve Francis made it very clear he did not want to be drafted by Vancouver when he was coming out of Maryland and ended up getting traded to Houston.

Could something similar happen with Zion?

FOX Sports 1's Colin Cowherd outlined what he would do if he was Zion.

"I'm not going to New Orleans if I'm Zion. Nope... This kid has got 9 years of peak talent. He's trained his whole life for this. He gets an opinion too. Elway got one, Eli got one, Lindros got one. He doesn't get one?" he said.

Of course, it's important to note that Zion hasn't said anything on the subject, and he could be excited about the possibility of playing in New Orleans with Jrue Holiday (and maybe Anthony Davis, too).

We'll find out soon enough.
