Dirk Nowitzki's Response To His NBA Drug Test Is Going Viral

Dirk Nowitzi warms up ahead of 2011 NBA Finals game.

Dirk Nowitzki turned 40 last month. While he isn't the NBA Finals MVP level player he was earlier this decade, he's still a valuable contributor to the Dallas Mavericks.

He's spent his entire career with the franchise. It is unclear if this will be his last season, but he basically has the green light from Mark Cuban to play as long as he likes.

Dirk can't really move around the court as well as he used to. He's definitely a defensive liability, and played fewer than 25 minutes a game in 2017-18, his lowest mark since his rookie year.

None of that keeps him from getting drug tested. Apparently, that's what happened recently.

Dirk Nowitzki revealed the recent drug test, and his joke about it was pretty hilarious.

From Dirk on Twitter:

Nowitzki is set to play his 21st season in the NBA, all of which has been in Dallas. That will set an NBA record.

He signed a new one year deal with the Mavericks earlier this off-season worth roughly $5 million.

The Mavericks are hoping a new European superstar will take the reins from Dirk, whenever he does retire. The team traded up to select Luka Doncic with the third pick of last month's NBA Draft.

Doncic, a 6-foot-7 guard from Slovenia, is the most heralded European prospect to enter the league in some time.
