Damian Lillard Breaks Silence On Getting Traded To The Bucks
The ongoing saga that has consumed the NBA offseason is officially over. Damian Lillard's trade request has been fulfilled, and instead of heading to the Miami Heat, the All-NBA guard will be going to the Milwaukee Bucks.
The trade caught the NBA world off guard, as many believed that it was all but certain that Lillard would be traded to his preferred destination of Miami.
Throughout the process, the Trail Blazers did not waver and they waited to get the best possible offer from the Bucks.
With Lillard now set to join another superstar in Giannis Antetokounmpo, he is reacting to the news of the trade on social media.
The casuals won’t be addressed but the trailblazers fans and city of Portland that I love truly will be … and they will be addressed truthfully. Stay tuned," Lillard said Wednesday.
"Excited for my next chapter," said the seven-time All-Star.
Lillard will end his time in Portland as the franchise's all-time leading scorer after passing Clyde Drexler to earn the honor last season.
The Blazers are fully set to rebuild after selecting Scoot Henderson with the No. 3 overall pick in the most recent NBA Draft. They have several young players they'll look to develop, including Shaedon Sharpe and Anfernee Simons.
