Pistons Coach Stan Van Gundy Rips Donald Trump, Voters: "We Just Elected An Openly Brazen, Misogynist Leader"

Stan Van Gundy is no fan of Donald Trump, and he spent a good chunk of time ripping the President-elect and his voters this morning.

According to MLive's Aaron McMann, Stan Van Gundy went on a five-minute rant about the Trump election, and how embarrassed he is about the entire thing. He does not hold back from criticizing the soon-to-be 45th President, or the electorate that put him into office.

More, from SVG:

"It's just, we have said - and my daughters, the three of them - our society has said, 'No, we think you should be second-class citizens. We want you to be second-class citizens.' And we embrace a guy who is openly mysogonist as a our leader. I don't know how we get past that.

"This isn't your normal candidate. I don't know even know if I have political differences with him. I don't even know what his politics," Van Gundy said. "I don't know, other than to build a wall and 'I hate people of color,' and women are to be treated as sex objects and as servants to men. I don't know how you get past that. I don't know how you walk into the booth and vote for that."

The comments come from a coach whose state of Michigan was one of the key swing states that was counted by many as a near-lock to go blue, and instead unexpectedly flipped red. Trump edged out Hillary Clinton in Michigan 48-percent to 47-percent, winning the state by under 12,000 votes. Tonight, he coaches in Arizona, which chose Trump over Clinton 50-percent to 45-percent on Tuesday. There seems like a very good chance that he'll hear it from the crowd tonight.

The Detroit Pistons and Phoenix Suns tip off at 9:00 p.m. ET at Talking Stick Resort Arena.
