Draymond Green Shares Honest Thoughts About Lakers Drafting Bronny
Draymond Green and LeBron James have been rivals in the past, and now the two All-Stars are close friends who are both represented by the same agent in Rich Paul.
During the latest episode of his podcast, Green took some time to weigh in on the Lakers drafting LeBron's oldest son Bronny in the second round this week.
Green began by saying that Bronny simply returning from cardiac arrest and being drafted at all is a testament to his will and drive to succeed.
"I actually think Bronny is going to end up being a better pro than a lot of these players in this draft," Green said.
"Has the athleticism, has the basketball IQ, plays the game the right way. I think he's going to be a good shooter in the NBA."
Green said that Bronny has the pedigree for success from his father, and he's a hard worker.
"I'll bet on that, it makes sense. Then you watch him play, and he's a good basketball player," Green said.
"You got him at 55. If he even becomes a rotational player, you did great. I think he could become a rotational player within the next two years."
Some believe the Lakers will send Bronny to the team's G-League affiliate this season to help him develop as a player.
The Lakers will likely attempt to contend again this season, and it could be difficult for Bronny to find minutes in the team's rotation.
The Lakers selected one of the most experienced players in the draft in the first round, Tennessee's Dalton Knecht.
He projects as the kind of player that can immediately contribute, which is what the Lakers need as they gear up for another playoff run.
