Last night, Kevin Durant went down with an Achilles injury that could affect the entire offseason. For now, though, it'll have an impact on which team comes out victorious in the 2019 NBA Finals.
Durant originally hurt his calf in the second round of the playoffs, missing roughly a month of basketball. His return to the court in Game 5 of the Finals was a mild surprise, especially since most reports detailed his difficult rehab.
Well, it didn't take very long for the All-Star forward to re-aggravate his leg injury in his return. Unfortunately, the belief around the league is that Durant tore his Achilles on Monday.
Durant's mother, Wanda Durant, had a heartwarming message to share on social media about her son's injury.
"For ALL of you who question my son as a Man, question his Heart, question his Integrity and question his LOVE for the game of basketball, you DON’T know him. He has a heart of a true Warrior! This too shall pass. God Bless you ALL," Wanda wrote on Twitter.

The official status for Durant should emerge this afternoon, as the Warriors star undergoes an MRI.
Hopefully the team's worst fears don't come true, but it certainly appears that Durant suffered a long-term injury.
