With free agency almost underway in the NBA, there might not be a clear favorite for Kevin Durant yet. In fact, the latest update on him disputes previous reports.
For the past week, the Brooklyn Nets have been thought of as an ideal destination for the All-Star forward. A potential duo between him and Kyrie Irving could actually be in the works.
However, there is absolutely no guarantee that Durant goes to Brooklyn.
According to SNY insider Ian Begley, the Nets aren’t actually the favorites to sign Durant. This would go against most of the reports from the media lately.
Begley did state that Brooklyn isn’t the favorite at the moment, so it’s possible that changes over time.
There have been some strong suggestions on TV/Radio lately that the Brooklyn Nets are the front runners for free agent Kevin Durant. That notion is not accurate, sources familiar with the matter say. More here: https://t.co/5g2BbJBoJ8

This free agency is going to be interesting because of how many stars are on the open market.
Durant should receive a max contract from wherever he signs, but teams may want more intel on his torn Achilles that he suffered in the NBA Finals.
Although Durant will most likely miss all of next season, the idea of basically redshirting him for 2020 could work in the long run.
Durant can start taking meetings starting on Sunday night.
Stay tuned for all the latest on the top free agents in the NBA.
