Raptors fans didn't exactly do themselves any favors last night with how they behaved in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. The fans at Scotiabank Arena were making the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
When Kevin Durant went down with an Achilles injury, a portion of the arena started cheering. It drew the attention of most people on social media. Players from both teams were not happy.
If the way Toronto fans handled Durant's injury wasn't brutal enough, the fan base received more negative publicity for its treatment of Steph Curry's parents.
Fans heckled Dell and Sonya Curry leading up to the game, and the actual footage doesn't look great for Toronto.
Sonya had no interest in shying away from the harsh words thrown in her direction. Dell, on the other hand, didn't show much emotion.
Here is the video:
This whole situation is pretty bizarre, especially since Dell played for the Raptors.
Fans could get intense during the postseason, and there's no denying that Steph Curry is like a thorn in Toronto's side. However, calling out his parents is definitely not a smart route.
As for the series, we'll see if the Warriors and Raptors can follow up an amazing Game 5 when the series resumes on Thursday.
