Kevin Durant left tonight’s game with a right lower leg injury. Moments ago, Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers provided an update on his condition.
A clearly emotional Myers announced what many feared watching Durant go down: he injured his Achilles. While Myers did not go into detail on the extent of the injury, he said an MRI tomorrow will confirm the damage.
Myers held back tears as he described Durant’s decision to return tonight as a collective effort. He also sung KD’s praises as a teammate and said he is “lucky to know him.”
Very emotional Warriors GM Bob Myers on KD: "It's an Achilles injury. I don't know the extent of it. He'll have an MRI tomorrow."

In a particularly heart-wrenching moment, Myers said if someone has to be blamed for what happened, it is him.
Myers says "If you have to, you can blame me. I run our basketball operations department."

If the Warriors and their medical staff followed all the proper protocol before clearing Durant to play tonight, and Durant himself wanted to play, there really isn’t anyone to place blame on.
However, one can understand how awful Myers has to feel. Not only is Durant’s season over, his career hangs in the balance.
Just a brutal situation all around.
