Golden State Warriors megastar Kevin Durant appears to have already made his free agency decision. He's reportedly planning to make his decision tonight.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski via David Aldridge, Durant is going to make the announcement on the Instagram account for his sports business network, The Boardroom. Recent reports suggest the Warriors are going to offer him upwards of $200 million to re-sign with them.
Several days ago, Wojnarowski reported that Durant had all but narrowed it down to four teams: The Warriors, Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks, and Los Angeles Clippers.
As of this past Friday, the Brooklyn Nets have the highest odds of landing him at even odds. The Warriors and the Knicks are also among the top contenders for his services.
Interestingly, the last few posts on the page consist of Knicks-adjacent content: Interviews with Knicks draft pick R.J. Barrett, and Ice Cube seemingly recruiting Durant to the Knicks.
Durant is coming off his tenth straight All-Star campaign, and is expected to receive the largest contract in free agency this season.
Regardless of which team he chooses though, it's unlikely that he'll see the court for that team in the first year of the deal. He suffered a ruptured Achilles in the NBA Finals and is likely to miss most if not all of the 2019-20 season.
