James Harden promised he had a new move for everyone, and in tonight’s exhibition opener, the 2018 NBA MVP did not disappoint.
Harden already owns an incredible repertoire of moves he uses to get buckets or get to the foul line. His latest creation is something you probably haven’t seen anyone else try before.
You can see the clip below of Harden facing up a defender and attempting a step-back one-legged three-point shot. If you’ve been following Harden this summer, you’ve seen him practice this move in workouts and open runs.
He missed the shot, but just putting this out there allows Harden to give opponents one more thing to think about when he gets the ball.

Harden takes a lot of grief from some fans for his propensity for living at the foul line, and his fancy footwork often gives the appearance he is traveling.
However, there’s no denying the man’s talent and his creativity with the ball in his hands.
He’s going to make his share of these types of step-backs this season, and defenders will be left only shaking their heads.
