Carmelo Anthony has put together one of the most impressive resumes in this era of basketball, but his fall from grace has been hard to watch. Although he joined the Houston Rockets for the chance to win a championship, the All-Star forward is now looking for another home.

If Anthony chooses to continue his professional career, it's possible that he'll sign with a new franchise rather quickly. However, there won't be as many suitors for the veteran as he might expect.

Out of all the options available in front of him, five teams stand above the rest.

Here are the top landing spots for Anthony:

1. Miami Heat

For starters, taking his talents to South Beach would offer Anthony the chance to play with Dwyane Wade. Even though both stars are way past their primes, the Heat can use another veteran force off the bench. In addition, he would finally stop pressuring himself to capture that highly-coveted ring.

2. Philadelphia 76ers

Once the Philadelphia 76ers made the blockbuster move to acquire Jimmy Butler, the bench was left depleted due to the absence of Dario Saric and Robert Covington. If Anthony is willing to accept a diminished role in Philly, then he could find himself making a difference for a championship contender.

3. Portland Trail Blazers

The one position that Portland needs to address is small forward, which makes this pairing work. Evan Turner and Maurice Harkless aren't providing scoring punch from that spot, and that is one aspect of Anthony's game that still functions.

4. New Orleans Pelicans

It's hard to believe that New Orleans will ride through this season with Wesley Johnson and Darius Miller getting significant playing time on the wings. Signing Anthony would give them much-needed depth, without affecting the dynamic duo of Anthony Davis and Nikola Mirotic.

5. Los Angeles Lakers

This could be his final opportunity to play alongside LeBron James, and considering the way the Lakers are constructed, adding Anthony would give them another consistent scorer. Besides, when do teams led by James actually remain content with their current roster?

In the event that none of these options want to roll the dice and sign Anthony, then he might just have to channel his inner Stephon Marbury and play basketball in China.
