Jimmy Butler's presence in Houston today might not be that big of a deal, considering he is from the area. However, it certainly has caught the attention of some Rockets fans.

Butler is expected to decline his nearly $20 million player option for next season, making him a free agent. The 29-year-old star spent much of last season with the Philadelphia 76ers.

He's been posting videos of himself driving through downtown Houston on his Instagram story today, piquing the interest of Rockets supporters.

Ironically, Butler being in town coincides with reports of discord between Chris Paul and James Harden, including the assertion that Paul demanded a trade. Both Paul and Rockets GM Daryl Morey denied this occurred. Sure, Butler-to-the-Rockets is simply wishful thinking at this point, but it is something positive Houston fans can dream on amidst the turmoil.

Assuming Butler doesn't opt in to his current deal, the Rockets could find a way to acquire him, but it would likely be through a sign-and-trade type of deal.

There are a lot of moving parts that still have to come together for that to occur.
