The New York Knicks rallied for a big comeback win against the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference playoff series on Sunday evening.
New York is now leading Philadelphia, 3-1, heading into Game 5 later this week.
While Game 4 was in Philly, there were plenty of New York fans in attendance. This didn’t sit well with Joel Embiid.
“Disappointing. I love our fans,” Embiid told reporters.
“Think it’s unfortunate and I’m not calling them out, but it is disappointing. Obviously you got a lot of Knicks fans and they’re down the road and I’ve never seen it, and I’ve been here for 10 years. Yeah, it kind of (ticks) me off, especially because Philly is considered a sports town. They’ve always shown up and I don’t think that should happen. Yeah. It’s not okay.”
Game 5 of the first round playoff series is scheduled for Tuesday night in Madison Square Garden.
The tipoff time and TV channel will be released at a later date. The Sixers will need to pull off the road upset if they’re going to bring the series back to Philadelphia.
