There is never any love lost between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lake Show was in Boston tonight and gutted out a tough 107-104 win to end a six-game slide. The game also marked the return of Rajon Rondo from injury -- he racked up eight points and four assists in 19 minutes of action.
Before the game, Kobe was asked about Rondo's return to the court -- specifically, how Rondo would deal with the clear rebuilding efforts of Boston (since Kobe went through a number of rebuilding years of his own in LA). Kobe's response was classic Kobe:
After the game, Rondo said that he took the name-calling as a compliment from Kobe, and decided to flip it right back to him as well:
It's nice to know that both Kobe and Rondo are keeping their trash talk sharp even when their games aren't full-go. And realistically, Kobe was seemingly complimenting Rondo's toughness, albeit in a fairly interesting way. Rondo handled the comment with his nice little return zinger for some fun, and now we can all move on.
