Toronto's star point guard reportedly is not interested in returning.
Kyle Lowry is a free agent this summer.
Will Toronto's All-Star point guard be back on the Raptors in 2017-18?
Not according to Bruce Arthur of the Toronto Star, who reports that Lowry, as of mid-May, anyway, had "zero interest" in returning to the franchise.
"As of mid-May other teams were being told Lowry had “zero interest” in returning to Toronto, even if the Raptors offered a maximum five-year deal. Which since the club had no intention of offering a five-year deal probably made Lowry’s declaration easier to make," he reported.
As Arthur points out, though, things could change.
A couple of Lowry's potential destinations - Philadelphia and San Antonio - reportedly aren't likely to be options anymore. The Sixers have (or will have) their point guard in rookie Markelle Fultz and the Spurs reportedly aren't interested in giving him a max contract.
Lowry, for what it's worth, addressed the report on Twitter.
Free agency begins on July 1.
