Kyrie Irving hasn't been shy in his criticism of the Boston Celtics' inconsistent play so far this NBA season.

The criticism appeared to reach its peak over the last week, as the Celtics suffered a couple of bad losses.

Irving revealed while speaking to reporters that everyone on the Celtics needed to step their play up, noting that if players thought it was tough now, imagine how tough it'll be when the NBA playoffs start.

The Celtics got back on track this evening - for one game, anyway - in a big home victory over the Toronto Raptors.

Irving was sensational, scoring or assisting on nearly all of the Celtics' big buckets in the fourth quarter. He had 27 points and 18 assists in the 117-108 victory.

The Boston Celtics' star point guard made a surprising admission after the game, too: He called LeBron James last week.

Irving, who demanded a trade from Cleveland at least partially to get away from LeBron, says he now knows how tough it can be to be the go-to player on a contending team.

“It takes a real man to call somebody and say ‘Hey, man, I was young,'" Irving told reporters.

Irving said he talked with LeBron about leadership and what it takes to get the most out of your young players.

That's pretty freaking cool.
