After earlier reports indicated that New Orleans wasn't interested in sending Anthony Davis to Los Angeles in a blockbuster trade, the two sides are now making slight progress.

The Lakers have been rumored to be the preferred destination for Davis, who wants to play alongside LeBron James on a championship franchise.

New Orleans could receive a massive haul in return for Davis, especially considering that one more year remains on his contract.

With the Pelicans falling toward the bottom of the conference standings, it'd make sense to acquire as many future assets as possible.

It's still very early in trade discussions, but the Pelicans and the Lakers have talked about a possible trade revolving around Davis, per NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowksi.

Los Angeles will try to be aggressive in an attempt to snag Davis before the deadline. Los Angeles has reportedly made a strong offer. "Sources: Lakers let Demps know one of trade scenarios would include Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Ivica Zubac, No. 1 pick, per source," Brad Turner.

There are other offers on the table, too.

If the Pelicans choose to hold onto their top player until the offseason, the Boston Celtics would have interest in acquiring the superstar forward.

Stay tuned.
