Life without LeBron James hasn’t treated the Lakers well, as Los Angeles is 1-3 without its superstar forward.
James suffered a strained groin on Christmas Day against Golden State. Although the Lakers dismantled the Warriors with their best player out for the majority of the second half, the team has struggled mightily of late in his absence.
With Kyle Kuzma currently nursing an injury to his back and Rajon Rondo out for an extended period of time, the Lakers are scrambling for answers on offense.
Brandon Ingram is starting to embrace his increased workload with Los Angeles, but it’s clear that this team doesn’t function nearly as well with James on the sideline.
The Lakers have been outscored in the fourth quarter three times in the last four contests, which includes giving up a game-winning shot to Bogdan Bogdanovic of the Sacramento Kings.
Unfortunately for Los Angeles, it appears James will have to miss at least another week of action. He won’t travel with the team for their upcoming road trip and needs to be re-evaluated next week.

It’s important that James makes a full recovery from this groin injury, yet his extended absence could push the Lakers out of the playoff picture for the time being.
Los Angeles currently sits at the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference.
