The consensus around the league was that Kawhi Leonard’s decision would dictate which team is the odds-on favorite, but we didn’t have any indication that he’d play alongside Paul George in Los Angeles.
On Saturday, the Clippers sent shockwaves through the league by making two blockbuster moves. Not only did they sign Leonard to a four-year contract, but they also acquired George in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
As you’d expect, the Clippers have become the favorites to win next year’s NBA Finals.
Following the Clippers for the best odds are the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers. This makes sense considering that the former was in the Eastern Conference Finals and the latter is led by LeBron James.
Surprisingly enough, the Golden State Warriors have seventh-best odds to win the 2020 NBA Finals. Clearly the loss of Kevin Durant played a factor.
Other teams with decent odds to win the NBA Finals includes the Philadelphia 76ers, Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets.

A potential playoff showdown between the Clippers and Lakers would be quite entertaining for the league.
It’s still far too early to tell if these odds will remain the same this offseason, but for now it shows that Leonard has become arguably the most impactful star in the NBA.
Which team do you believe should be the favorites heading into next season?
