LaVar Ball was back on the airwaves today, and somehow made himself even more controversial with what he said to FS1's Kristine Leahy.
Ball appeared on The Herd this afternoon, on what should be a great day for his family after the Los Angeles Lakers landed the No. 2 pick in the NBA Draft at last night's lottery. That makes the Lakers, Ball's prefered team for his son, the prohibitive favorite to take Lonzo Ball.
Instead, Ball finds himself in some serious hot water.
During the interview with Colin Cowherd, Ball had a very contentious back-and-forth with co-host Kristine Leahy, telling her to "stay in her lane" when asked about stalling Big Baller Brand shoe sales. He also refused to even turn to look at Leahy once, and when asked about marketing his brand to women, his answer was even more uncouth.
“In order to have a successful company, I think you are going to have to have women that like your brand,” said Leahy, to which Ball responded "Uh, yeah, if you have a women’s company. But we talking about Big Baller Brand."
Here's the full back-and-forth.
Ball dismissed Leahy as a "hater," and mocked her voice at one point. The entire interview was just totally uncomfortable. The whole thing is made even more confusing bythe fact that Big Baller Brand has a women's section.
It doesn't seem that LaVar Ball is going to negatively impact his son's Draft stock, but he really does seem intent on seeing just how far he will go with his outlandish statements. Today's display is among the worse that he's had.
