On Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers saw their fortunes take a turn for the better.
After a tumultuous 2018-19 season that saw the team battle through injuries and fire head coach Luke Walton, something finally went right for the Lakers.
During the NBA’s draft lottery announcement on Tuesday night, the Lakers held a 2.8-percent chance of landing the No. 4 pick in the draft.
All signs pointed to Los Angeles coming away with the No. 11 pick (a 77.6-percent chance).
However, as the top 14 picks were unveiled, the Lakers remained unnamed until the No. 4 selection. Los Angeles walked away with the No. 4 pick – added ammo for a potential Anthony Davis trade.
After the lottery was announced, Lakers star LeBron James took to Twitter with his reaction.
“#4 (eyes emoji) Beautiful,” LeBron said on Tuesday night.
#4 👀 Beautiful.

LeBron and the Lakers are in position to make a bold play for New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis. However, after the Pelicans landed the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, the team’s desire to make an Anthony Davis trade likely disappeared.
With Zion Williamson on the team, the Pelicans could compete for a spot in the Western Conference playoffs.
