As Lonzo Ball prepares for the next chapter of his basketball career, it appears the former No. 2 pick is ready to leave the Big Baller Brand behind.
This season will be significant for Ball as he enters his first season in New Orleans. He was part of the blockbuster trade that sent Anthony Davis to Los Angeles.
Even though Ball won’t be playing in Los Angeles anymore, the talented guard will continue to remain a part of his family’s reality show “Ball In The Family.”
In the trailer for the show’s fifth season, Lonzo is seen confronting LaVar Ball about the family brand.
Lonzo had an interesting remark about the Big Baller Brand, saying “The brand is demolished right now.” LaVar quickly refuted that claim from his son.
Check it out:
LaVar didn’t seem very happy that Lonzo spoke negatively of the Big Baller Brand. In addition to this argument, the trailer for season five also hints at tension rising between father and son.
It hasn’t been a great year for the family brand, which has dealt with more issues than usual. Lonzo cut ties with Big Baller Brand co-founder Alan Branch because he felt that he used the brand to enrich himself.
With Lonzo clearly out on the brand, it’ll be interesting to see how it affects his relationship with LaVar.
