Blake Griffin has officially been traded.

The 28-year-old superstar is heading from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Detroit Pistons. It is the first blockbuster trade before the NBA's trade deadline, which is in 10 days.

In exchange for Griffin, Willie Reed and Brice Johnson, the Pistons reportedly traded Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic, a first-round pick and a second-round pick.

That's quite the haul, even though the Clippers are giving up the best player in the deal.

It is pretty jarring to see the Clippers trade Griffin. Sure, DeAndre Jordan and Lou Williams also could be on the move, but Griffin is the team's superstar and franchise player.

They signed him to a five-year, $173 million contract last summer, and used an unorthodox recruiting pitch where they compared him to JFK, MLK, Nelson Mandela and other historical figures.

That's a lot of love to show someone to trade him about six months later.

Griffin, who dabbles as a stand-up comedian, showed his sense of humor with his Twitter reaction to the news of being traded. He borrowed a classic Will Smith/Fresh Prince GIF to tell the story.

It looks like Blake was just as surprised to learn the news as everyone else was.

We'll have to see how this trade works out for both sides.
