Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley is one of the fiercest defenders in the NBA.

Beverley is known for his tenacity on the defensive end of the floor. The Clippers guard is willing to take any defensive assignment, whether it's trying to slow down LeBron James, Stephen Curry or another standout player.

The Los Angeles Clippers guard recently named the toughest player in the league to guard. He gave his answer on JJ Redick's podcast.

Beverley went with Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard.

“I say Dame. I give it to him... Dame is one of the reasons why I went into the weight room," Beverley explained on The JJ Redick Podcast. "I told my guys, 'Hey, I gotta get faster laterally. I don't feel like I'm fast.'”

Lillard is one of the best offensive players in the NBA, so this isn't too surprising of an answer. Few NBA players, if any, can get 30-plus points as easily as Lillard can.

The 2019-20 NBA season is set to resume from Orlando, Florida later this month.

Both the Clippers and the Blazers are among the 22 teams invited into the "bubble" at Disney World. Los Angeles is among the favorites to win it all, while Portland needs to make a run to get into the playoffs.
