Former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue was rumored for an assistant coaching job in the NBA over the past week.

Those reports were accurate.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania of the Athletic and Stadium, Lue signed a deal to become the top assistant for Doc Rivers in Los Angeles.

Instead of joining LeBron James in L.A., Lue is taking his talents to the Clippers.

Lue is most known for leading the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals in 2016. He developed a strong relationship with LeBron, who reportedly wanted him as his coach in Los Angeles.

After he and the Lakers failed to come to an agreement, Lue spent time figuring out his next steps. It didn't take him long to find a home on the sideline once again.

Lue has experience under Doc Rivers from 2011-2013 with the Boston Celtics.

Rivers led a surprising Clippers team to the playoffs in2018-19. With the addition of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, Los Angeles is a favorite to take home the NBA title.

Add Lue to the mix and the Clippers have all the makings of a legitimate contender in a crowded Western Conference.

Lakers-Clippers should be fun this season.

Stay tuned for the latest.
