The last two seasons haven’t been so kind to DeMarcus Cousins as injuries have prevented him from reaching his full potential. Injuries have also cost him the opportunity to earn a max contract in free agency.
Cousins spent this past year with the Golden State Warriors hoping that he could take his time to recover, yet play for a contender in the process. Unfortunately, he suffered a torn quad in the first round of the playoffs.
Despite his proven track record of being a tremendous scorer, Cousins didn’t have many suitors this offseason. He ultimately settled for a one-year deal worth $3.5 million with the Lakers.
With a full offseason ahead of Cousins for him to recover, the former first-round pick is looking to do something he’s never done in his NBA career.
While talking about his health to the media, Cousins revealed that his goal is to play in all 82 games.
He believes he’s getting stronger by the day and should be 100 percent healthy for next season.
DeMarcus Cousins on his health right now: "I'm working my tail off every single day. My quad is 100% healed. I'm building it up every day…I'm getting stronger. Getting in better shape. My plan is to come into camp in tiptop shape. My goal is to play 82 gms this season." #Lakers

Los Angeles needs Cousins to be active if it wants to be a contender in the Western Conference.
Cousins will be reunited with former teammates in Anthony Davis and Rajon Rondo. The Lakers have built an impressive roster around LeBron James this summer in an effort to maximize their championship window.
Do you think Cousins can reach this high goal that he set for next season?
