The Los Angeles Lakers had a tumultuous 2018-19 season, followed by a tumultuous start to the offseason. After trading for Anthony Davis, there is hope among fans that perhaps things are settling down.

Lakers owner Jeanie Buss has been the focal point of criticism from fans and media alike of late. Speaking at tonight's NBA Awards, Buss was asked about her faith in general manager Rob Pelinka and the current state of the franchise.

In addition to backing up Pelinka with "100 percent confidence," Buss delivered a message to Lakers fans.

''Be patient," was the overriding theme.

Buss also shot down media speculation about Pelinka's job security.

The next step for Pelinka is filling out LA's roster for next season. Beyond LeBron James, Davis and Kyle Kuzma, there is a lot of uncertainty.

The Lakers could opt to sign a third max player, should they create enough cap space. Or, they could spread the space they've already cleared around to a number of different veteran role players.
