While conventional wisdom has pointed to the Los Angeles Lakers drafting local star Lonzo Ball, the franchise is exploring other options for the No. 2 pick. Today, Kansas' Josh Jackson will workout out for the team for a second time.
Earlier this afternoon, ESPN's Jovan Buha reported that the Lakers were bringing Jackson to the team's facility.
Jackson previously worked out for the team back in late May.
Last week, reports emerged that Ball, who is not working out for other teams, was not super impressive in his performance for the Lakers brass. The team is reportedly considering Jackson and Kentucky's De'Aaron Fox as possible alternatives to the UCLA guard. A second workout for the athletic Jayhawks wing certainly seems to indicate that Magic Johnson's team is very serious about that option.
Jackson seems to have some momentum in this draft class. ESPN's Jalen Rose called him his favorite player in the entire class, and the guy he would take No. 1 overall.
I'm sure there are plenty of basketball fans that would love to see this happen, not because of Jackson's fit with the Lakers, but for LaVar Ball-based schadenfreude reasons.
