Last night, the Los Angeles Lakers beat the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors in a 127-101 rout. But the win may have felt hollow to some fans who saw LeBron James exit the game early due to an injury.
In yesterday's game, LeBron left the game in the third quarter with what Lakers head coach Luke Walton said was a left groin strain.
Walton said that LeBron is slated to get an MRI today.
However, he added that the team intends to prepare for Thursday's game against the Sacramento Kings as if he will not be there.
LeBron James had a double-double in last night's win, scoring 17 points and contributing 13 assists through the first three quarters.
Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma led the team in scoring with 19 points in a team-leading 31 minutes. Ivica Zubac had a double-double of his own with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
The Lakers ran away with the game in the fourth quarter, as they outscored the Warriors 36-19.
The win lifted the Lakers over the Los Angeles Clippers into second place behind the Warriors in the Pacific division standings with a 20-14 record.
They are 2.5 games back from Golden State for the division title.
