Late Tuesday night, Los Angeles Lakers fans received some troubling news about one of the team's best young players.
Police in Texas arrested Lakers guard Alex Caruso for marijuana possession, according to the police report. NBA reporter Ben Rohrbach tweeted a photo of Caruso's mugshot along with details of the arrest.
According to the police report, Texas A&M University police booked Caruso on two charges. Police charged the Lakers guard with marijuana possession of less than two ounces and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to a report from ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, Caruso tried to board a flight when he was stopped. "The Transportation and Security Administration searched Caruso's bags and found a herb grinder that contained marijuana," the report said.
After the news broke on Tuesday night, fans decided to have a few jokes at Caruso's expense. One of which included LeBron James paying for Caruso's bond in order to have him released.
Well, LeBron saw that and decided to have a little fun of his own.
Check it out.
Of course, a player getting arrested is never a laughing matter. Then again, Caruso was reportedly arrested for something that has become legal in over 15 states around the country.
Caruso posted bond - without LeBron having to come save him - and was released shortly after being arrested.
