On Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Clippers hosted the Los Angeles Lakers in the first NBA game of the season for both teams. In a battle for Los Angeles, the Clippers crowned themselves kings with a 112-102 win - even without Paul George on the floor.

LeBron James was his old self again, with 18 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

After the loss, James had a message for his team - and Los Angeles.

"What an atmosphere it was last night! Laker Nation showed up and showed out! We owe y’all 1 and many more after that. Thank you for the support and know we’re going to make y’all proud to be a Laker fan! Let’s all throw that powder up to the heavens above and watch it rain over us all," James said on Instagram.

Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis and others made their debuts for their new teams and showed why they were huge off-season additions. Leonard poured in 20 first-half points before ending the game with 30. Davis starred in his Lakers debut with 25 points, 10 rebounds and five assists on the night.

New addition Danny Green led the Lakers in scoring with 28 points on 7-of-9 shooting from three-point land.
